Newbie update: I have decided to purchase the Air 3 Fly More combo instead of the Mavic 3 Pro. A few reasons: 1 - It's my first drone. So, a cheaper version to learn the trade. Also, with the 3x optical 70 mm camera and additional digital zoom, as well as 4K video capture, it will be good enough for kayaking and other fun stuff. 2 - Rumors of a future Mavic 4 drone in develoment. So, if that drone comes out before any US ban, and if it has the right worthwhile feature, like 8K video, then I may upgrade to that.

I have the ECM-W3, which excels in audio quality due to its minimal electromagnetic noise. This isn't a major issue in louder environments but can be problematic in quiet settings. Additionally, Sony is traditionally one of the three major companies dealing with wireless microphones (along with Sennheiser and Shure). Therefore, in terms of microphone performance, Sony is ahead of DJI and Rode, despite their appearances. Nonetheless, I also recommend the DJI Mic 2, especially since it supports internal recording and feels like a premium purchase. Notably, DJI Mic 2 is one of the first instances where Sony has shared their standards externally, a trend I hope continues.

Astonishing Tamron lenses have no focus breathing when all Sony lenses have except the old ones like 35 f1.8 and 24-105 f4 that have no focus breathing but these last two have only one motor. My opinion is Sony dual motor is not good, single motor seems better. Tamron have single motor.

I trust my tamron 70-300 on my Sony a7c. Fantastic lens. Now they have the 50-300 VC. More expensive but with lens stabilization. My 70-300 is always stable even at 300mm handheld in photo. And I’m shaking a lot de to Parkinson. In video VC could be very important. And 50mm-70mm additional range would be a plus to go from standard zoom to telephoto.

Thankyou. How long can you continuously shoot for in 4k (assuming battery addition or USB connected external power)?

Should I go for the 24mm f 1.4 or should I go for the 20mm f 1.8. I'm cheap and I am curious to know if the 24mm f 1.4 is worth the extra 1000 dollars over the f 1.8 lens .

How does wind affect the drone?

Jake, the fact that the Pro has just 8 GB of SSD and the Pro Cine has 1 TByte of SSD. How does that impact the whole video recording and video saving. Is the video down loading from the drone to the RC. And is there a limited SSD in the RC as well? Is that one of the reasons why there is also an upgradable path to the RC Pro? So, now I'm wondering how would the SSD size difference impact the whole workflow when shooting for hours, as while kayaking down a river. That's kind of a busy recording session not conducive to wanting to have to worry about video storage and safe keeping. So many things to figure out. Thanks for the help.

Hi Jake. Interesting video. I have a canon 250d. Weighs less than 800g. I was wondering if a DJI ronin s gimbal would work with this camera. I want to improve my video making at the moment they are rather shaky. Thank you. Regards. Alan.

HI Jake, My question is this. I notice that when I put the Dlog assist on or off the histogram changes radically. I head a guy on your tube say that using the Dlog assist is bad in the way that it gives a wrong reading on the histogram and you won't get the the benefits of exposing to the right. I tried it and it was odd. With DLOG assist off I could not get the histogram past 70 percent to the right and it was very sunny and I had it at 2.8 and ISO high. I was wondering what you thought about it. Please let me know. ALSO, I use the Mavic 3 Classic with the RC 1. So many of the options you have are not on my RC. Do you think it's your PRO RC or the Classic just does not offer many of the pro features. For on instance. I do not have USB feature that keeps the drown from over heating and getting hot while turned on plugged in to the computer.

Jake, I got more questions for you. 😳 Are the 3 cameras recording and saving their video to drone SD card and/or transmitting all 3 video streams to DJI RC, irrespective of which camera is currently on display in the RC?

I have 6 DJI Drones, but my best 2, are my AIR 2S, & AIR 3, I also have the Mini 4 Pro, Mini 3 Pro, Mini 3, & FPV Drone. All fly more combos. I love my AIR 3 & I like filming wildlife, I can get pretty close with my AIR 3, & that 3 power optical zoom helps, but I need more zoom capabilities. I just got the Autel Evo Lite Plus Premium Bundle, but I think im going to send it back & get the Mavic 3 Pro for the zoom. I would wait for the Mavic 4 & AIR 4 to come out in August, but im scared, that if I wait, for the AIR 4 or Mavic 4, the DJI Drone Ban will pass the Senate, & and I'll be screwed. Im currently studying for my Part 107.

Do I need Final Cut Pro and the required Mac laptop to run it? I own Windows laptops and I'm wondering about the editing setup that I can use with the Pro Res video from this drone.

Jake, I just joined your channel. I'll be going through lots of your videos on the Mavic 3 Pro. I'm learning as much as possible before ordering what I would like with this camera. If I may, a question for you. If I'm on a lake for a while and I start getting concerned about the drone battery, how easy would it be to fly it back to the kayak for a safe landing so I can replace the battery? Or would I need to drive back to shore?

hey Jake, subscibed! hope you can help me! is it possible to film yourself without holding the controller? I want to play guitar and film a video of myself using DJI mini pro 4. I cant find this info anywhere.. i'd like it to circle me while filming but me holding the guitar and not the controller.. I can see that using the pocket 3 would help with the active track and on a tripod (will get that too), but any suggestions with the mini pro 4 to go 'controllerless' just to get the shots of me playing guitar and using both hands... thank you so much!!!

Hope you will see this and help me out! Have you ran both the action 4 and the hero 12 black in cold winter settings? I know the action 4 is ratted for -4F tempatures, and I know go pro has the Enduro batteryz, but as an extreme motorsports guy who does ton of cold weather activities, that's my biggest thing is how robust and reliable are the two? Which is better for my style? Hero 12 black for 400$ with 2x Enduro batteryz? Or action 4 for 400$ with 3x good batterys? The specs don't really matter as much as the reliability to me. I have a hero 7 black and it is a nightmare to matter the weather, love how it operates just not reliable enough.

So basically we're paying 1000 bucks more for the hasselbald camera lens in Mavic 3 pro.

Is it because you're using wireless video transmission at the same time so that the Sony's signal is so poor?

As an Air 3 owner myself, I can confirm that this drone is super incredibly fast (for a non-FPV drone) and the 3x camera also has the neiche advantage of being able to capture 4K slomos, which is not possible in the Mavic 3. The incredibly long battery life makes it very good for shooting hyperlapses of the entire sunset from the sun touching the horizon all the way to the sky turning blue all within a single charge if you first plan the waypoint mission with a battery, then save the mission, take a fresh battery and immediately start the mission. You will make it - barely - but If this wind is rather abscent you should just barely make it. Also having 2 equally capable cameras wont give you the feeling of "sacrificing something if you zoom in. I have flown Mavic 2 Pros and Mini 3 Pros before but the Air 3 is definitely by far the coolest drone I have flown so far, also easily outperforming the Mavic 2 Pro. That 60° gimbal tilt may be a neiche feature, but it will give you very cool shots if you have a subject standing right at a cliff. As a EU citizen I do appreciate the sub 900g feature, but I really dont mind it as much. I do own both the A1/A3 and A2 licenses but I dont really pay much attention to follow all the rules anyway. I'd confidently fly an Inspire in a city at night time out of VLOS as of caring about the rules. I'd be more worried of crashing my drone rather than breaking the law. This is of course illegal but honestly as long as you have rather fool proof routines/check lists, nothing will happen. Drone laws are so incredibly strict that you basically cannot fly them if you want to comply with all of them perfectly.

Jake, thanks for making this video. I, too, was not excited after seeing the DJI MIC 2. But when the shoe mount came out, it was a game changer. This, of course, just after I bought a Sennheiser AVX lav. Have a great day! Enjoy the summer. 😀

Can you adjust how high the gradual grey filter sits in the frame or is ot just in the middle by default? Does this clamp directly onto lenses with 95mm outer diameter?

I have an Rode NTG, two Rode Videomic Go II's, one Panasonic Shot Gun (DMW-MS2), one Audio Technica AT4073a Shotgun, one Rode NT4 and one Rode NT3. I shoot multicam live theatre, concerts and dance shows. My Rode NTG quit but it was replaced by Rode under warranty. I usually use two Rode Videomic Go II's and the Audio Technica AT4073a on my cameras. I seldom use the Rode NTG as it sounds very similar to the Rode Videomic Go II and I don't have to worry about batteries. The Panasonic shot gun doesn't require a battery. I use the Rode NT4 on the leading edge of the stage with the Sound Devices Mix Pre 3.
